Julie Sutphen Phelps is a member of the Sutphen family’s fourth-generation and and currently serves as a member of the board of directors. During her time as the President of Sutphen Hilliard and Sutphen East and Vice President of Sutphen Corporation, Julie oversaw Sutphen’s Hilliard facility in Hilliard, Ohio, as well as Sutphen East in Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania. She played a key role in driving companywide growth, expansion, strategic initiatives, and enhancing the overall Sutphen Experience.

After beginning her adult career in the medical field, Julie discovered her true passion lay within the family business and the fire industry. She returned to Sutphen and never looked back. Under her leadership, both the Hilliard and East facilities expanded and increased production.

In March 2026, Julie transitioned from her role as President and now serves on the company’s Board of Directors. In this capacity, she continues to embody the spirit of a family-run business, working alongside her son Steven, daughter Megan, niece Shelby, cousins Drew, Danny and Dareth as well as other family members as she shapes the company’s strategic direction and supports the next generation of leadership.
