Sutphen Corporation announces growth and expansion at facilities

Dublin, OH – Exciting news out of Sutphen Corporation today as they announce major expansion and production changes.

The Company has acquired a new state of the art facility, in Urbana, OH, that will house the Sutphen Service, Parts, and Refurbishment Center.  The new facility includes space for expanded parts warehousing and sales, service bays, and dedicated refurbishment bays, which is an up-and-coming side of the service business.  Another focus will be on training and education, as the Company plans to unveil Sutphen University at the new facility.

Todd Winnenberg, General Manager of the Service and Chassis Divisions, is excited about the move.  “We are working hard to grow the service and parts piece of the business.  It’s a good feeling to know that we have grown to the point where we need additional space and employees.”  The company is looking to fill multiple positions at the new facility.  “The Urbana facility is about 20 minutes from the current Springfield location, and it’s also easily accessible from Bellefontaine, Marysville, and surrounding areas.  We love to support these local communities, so if you are in the area and interested, please give us a call.”  Interested parties can call Todd at 800-548-0365 or visit the career opportunities page of the Company’s website.

Sutphen is looking at plans to use the space that currently houses Service as increased production for its line of custom pumpers.  That move would then allow for increased production space at the Company’s Chassis division.

“In a time when we see so much change within manufacturers in the industry, it is refreshing to know that Sutphen is here. Still family owned, still strong, stable, and committed to the fire service, and continuing to grow.”  Says Drew Sutphen, President of the Corporation.

Drew continues, “We have seen consistent growth in sales, and as a result of that, we can expand the business in ways that will allow us to continue to put out a great product and meet the increased demands we are seeing.  It’s all about building a better experience for our customers, and that is what we are committed to.”

In addition to the expanded Service facility, the Dublin manufacturing location is also seeing some changes.  The company will repurpose an existing building on their grounds and create a new pumper body assembly area in order to meet demands and increase their custom pumper output.

Sutphen has experienced recent growth at other facilities as well.  Just last year the company announced a new manufacturing facility in Scranton, PA that their Sutphen East production took over, and the facility in Hilliard, OH has recently created a new and improved customer final inspection area.

Sutphen Corporation is an Ohio based privately held, family-owned business that manufactures the highest quality; heavy-duty, custom built emergency response vehicles.  The company’s headquarters are located in suburban Dublin, Ohio northwest of Columbus.
